1 “How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway of sinners or sit in the company of mockers!” (NIV)
Everyone is seeking happiness. If that is true, then everyone should read this Psalm, for it directs us where happiness is to be found in its highest degree and purest form. Happiness here is defined as prosperous, blessed, absence of want, stability, and fatness. The Lord wills for His children to walk in Divine Happiness. “Happy,” says David, “is such and such is a man.” This happiness is as attainable by the poor, the forgotten, and the obscure. It is not reserved for the priest or the Pastor, but it comes to any many or woman who loves God and seeks to obey Him.
The happy man avoids the way of the wicked persons at all cost. It is the Lord’s desire that we search and meditate on His Word. For true happiness can only be found in Christ!
